TO ALL PERMANENT RESIDENTS OF THE MUNICIPALITIES of CAMSELL PORTAGE, STONY RAPIDS, URANIUM CITY and WOLLASTON.
We are inviting applications to fill an upcoming vacancy on the Athabasca Community Trust to represent the four (4) Athabasca municipalities for a four (4) year term.
If you are interested in this opportunity and you want to represent Camsell Portage, Stony Rapids, Uranium City and Wollaston on the Athabasca Community Trust as the PRO (Permanent Resident Organization) Trustee, you must meet the following criteria:
• I am qualified to be a candidate and am an Athabasca Long Term Permanent Resident, ordinarily living in one of the Athabasca communities of Uranium City, Camsell Portage, Stony Rapids or Wollaston.
• I am the full age of 18 years or will attain the full age of 18 years on or before May 20, 2026.
• I am a Canadian citizen.
• I have not been convicted of theft, fraud or similar offenses without receiving a pardon;
• I do not have an undischarged bankrupt;
• I have not been declared mentally incompetent by a court.
• If selected, I will accept the office for which I have applied.
Qualified members must submit:
• Updated resume including 3 references.
• Recent picture identification
• Clean Criminal Record Check (CPIC)
• Clean search via the Office of the Superintendent of Bankruptcy. There is an $8.00 charge for the service, and the candidate would have to register on the website (no charge to register) https:/ /www.ic.gc.ca/ app/ scr/bsf-osb/ ins/ login.html?lang=eng
• this information will be used to affirm that they meet all candidate qualifications.
If selected, the Trustees must be willing to:
• Attend in person or via telephone or other electronic means, at least four (4) meetings as scheduled, the dates, places and times of which are set at the first meeting of the Trustees in any calendar year. This includes the Annual Meeting of the Trust every year, where the Trustees shall deliver a presentation to Beneficiaries on recent decisions of the Trustees, investments ofTrust Property, distributions ofTrust Property, and a review of the long- and short-term strategic plans for the management and use of the Trust Property.
• Vote at meetings on any matters relating to Trust business.
• Participate at meetings to develop long- and short-term strategic plans for the management and use ofTrust Property.
• Engage professionals, such as Investment Managers or Accountants.
• Attend training as required, regarding the Trust and its operation.
• Understand, apply and abide by the Trust Confidentiality and Conflict of Interest Policy.
• Participate in decision making for the use of Trust Property.
